Discover Lofty

A year of motion for James Boogie, new routes, new colors, and a journey shaped by curiosity rather than destination. Finally, defined by elevation and restraint, we arrive in Lofty, a journey where growth feels steady, thoughtful, and intentional. At this point, Lofty feels like the summit. A season where every detail is refine, every process considered, and James Boogie reaches its most deliberate point this year. Within Lofty, nylon, cotton, and cotton wax meet as quiet companions, each carrying its own purpose, each giving every James Boogie piece meaning beyond form.

Through this lens, five cotton wax jacket silhouettes revisit fishing, military, and hunting archetypes, where functional waxed fabrics meet thoughtful construction, allowing each piece to age with purpose and intention. Beyond the silhouettes, James Boogie develops a cotton fabric deeply rooted in military heritage, an essential part of its DNA.

Where yarn selection, material construction, colour development, and silhouette choices unfold through a long and deliberate process in the Lofty season. Meanwhile, jacket silhouettes unfold with new freedom, long-eye buttons, carefully selected details, and refreshed forms coming together to quietly redefine James Boogie’s perspective.

In the end, Lofty stands as a quiet summit, where process, material, and purpose meet, marking the most deliberate chapter of James Boogie’s journey this year. Lofty will be launch and available on our website and our store in 1 February 2025 Welcome to Lofty.

Fresh Silhoutte

Lofty introduces a series of fresh silhouettes that reflect James Boogie’s continued exploration of form and creative process. This season marks an expansion in shape and structure, presenting new directions that feel considered rather than impulsive. Among the highlights are newly develope military jacket silhouettes, reinterpreted through refined proportions and thoughtful detailing. Familiar references are approach with restraint, allowing construction and balance to define the final form.

Lofty also presents a new hoodie shape, designed with a renewed focus on structure, fit, and movement. Rather than relying on convention, the silhouette is adjust to create a clearer profile, one that feels purposeful, modern, and adaptable.

Alongside these, several experimental silhouettes emerge as part of James Boogie’s latest design exploration. These pieces serve as a testing ground for new ideas, offering fresh perspectives on how garments can be shape, worn, and understood within the brand’s evolving language.

Together, these new silhouettes underline Lofty as a season of exploration and refinement, where experimentation is guide by intention, and new forms are introduce with clarity and confidence.

Cotton Wax Project

In the Lofty, James Boogie presents the Cotton Wax Project, a material exploration rooted in heritage and function. Introducing cotton wax for the first time, the project reflects a return to fabrics shaped by use, weather, and time. Traditionally, cotton wax has been use in garments design for protection and endurance. Worn by workers, fishermen, hunters, and military personnel who relied on clothing as equipment rather than statement. Through a waxing process, the cotton fabric gains water resistance and a distinct surface character, gradually forming a natural patina that records movement, wear, and environment.

For Lofty, James Boogie approaches cotton wax with respect to its utilitarian origins. The project draws inspiration from military, fishing, and hunting jacket silhouettes, chosen for their honest construction and purpose driven design. These references serve as a foundation, informing structure, proportion, and detail without being directly replicat.

To support the nature of cotton wax, James Boogie applies carefully selected accessories and hardware that complement the material’s character. Each component is chosen not as ornament, but as a functional extension, designed to withstand use, reinforce structure, and age in harmony with the fabric itself. Each jacket is developed through careful construction and restrained design choices, allowing the material and its supporting elements to speak through texture and evolution.

Over time, the garments are intended to age alongside the wearer, reinforcing the idea that value is built through experience rather than immediacy. The Cotton Wax Project stands as a heritage driven exploration.

Cotton Project

Beyond the Cotton Wax Project, James Boogie continues its material exploration by developing its own cotton fabric for the Lofty. This process places close attention on thickness, color, and texture, ensuring the fabric meets the standards of durability, comfort, and character expected.

Rather than sourcing ready-made materials, James Boogie approaches cotton as a foundation that deserves careful consideration. Through control development, the fabric is shape to achieve a balance between weight and wearability, while color tones and surface textures are refine to feel grounded and authentic.

This material development is driven by respect for vintage military garments, where cotton historically played a central role due to its reliability, adaptability, and resilience. In those contexts, cotton was chosen not for excess, but for its ability to perform and endure.

By revisiting these dna’s and principles, James Boogie reinterprets cotton through a contemporary lens and transforming it into a material that supports modern silhouettes while carrying the values of heritage and function. The result is a fabric design to age with integrity, reinforcing Lofty as a season where fabric choice becomes an essential part of storytelling and purpose.

Garment Dyed Project

As the latest and final material exploration within Lofty, James Boogie introduces the Garment Dyed Project. This project marks a focused approach to color and character, presenting a selection of jackets and jumpers developed through a garment dyeing process. Rather than applying color at the fabric stage, the garments are dyeing after construction, allowing tone, depth, and variation to emerge naturally. This method gives each piece a distinct presence, where subtle differences become part of the design rather than imperfections.

In this project, the selection of colors, base materials, and accessories is approach with particular seriousness. Each element is teste and reconsider to ensure it respond well to the dyeing process, maintaining balance between structure, texture, and finish.

The Garment Dyed Project is define by time. A prolonged development period is essential to achieve the desired results, requiring repeated trials, adjustments, and careful observation. This extended process reflects James Boogie’s commitment to patience and precision, where decisions are made through consideration rather than urgency.

Standing as the closing chapter of Lofty’s material explorations, the Garment Dyed Project reinforces the journey’s core values. Intention, restraint, and respect for process resulting in garments shaped as much by time as by design.

Unbound and expressive, Lofty invites you to wander through moods and hues, letting curiosity lead the way. Defined by elevation and restraint, finally we arrive in Lofty, a journey where growth feels steady, thoughtful, and intentional.
